Associated Management Systems (AMS) was founded in 1970 by a regional mental health and developmental disability agency with a mission to improve efficiency and accuracy in billing and data management. In 1980, Frank and Linda Pohlgeers acquired the company and expanded its vision. Recognizing that the quality of AMS’s software and services was too valuable to benefit only one agency, they began marketing to providers across multiple states, fueling the company’s growth into the trusted organization it is today.

From the beginning, AMS has operated as an IBM Shop, with all software and services developed in-house specifically for the mental health and developmental disability arena. Each solution is carefully tailored to meet the unique requirements of individual states and providers. With unmatched expertise and decades of experience, AMS has earned the distinction of being the longest-tenured billing agent in several states, a testament to its proven reliability, innovation, and commitment to those it serves.
